Summary

Chapter 7 is titled “The Darkness.” The battle between Petey's giant robot cat and Piggy's giant robot brontosaurus goes on for two hours when Piggy points out that neither of them is ever going to win. Piggy suggests they ban together, citing the amount of chaos they could cause. He says Petey must have created Lil' Petey because he wanted a sidekick. At the mention of Lil' Petey, Petey remembers Lil' Petey saying that he could change. Piggy suggests they “ditch the obnoxious kid and go do some crimes” (169). Petey says Piggy cannot talk that way about his son, but realizes that he called Lil' Petey “son.” He tries to cover it by saying he meant to say “clone.”
