Summary
In Chapter 41, Amal arrives home from school to find Gulchin waiting. Jamilla makes it clear that Amal must be civil. Gulchin is frightened for Leila and says she will stop pushing the marriage issue if Leila will come home. Amal had believed Gulchin does not love Leila, but now realizes she was wrong. She also realizes that she had an education and open-minded attitudes. She has used those things as a reason to act superior. She also realizes that wearing the hajib has changed her outward appearance, but she still has to be pious on the inside.
