Summary
In Chapter 15, Adam stops Amal at lunchtime one day. She is on her way to pray and he questions her about her rituals and her beliefs. Adam is surprised to learn they believe in some of the same things, except the Muslims believe Jesus was an important prophet rather than the son of God, as Christians believe. Amal explains that prayer time is a chance for her to reset so that she is ready to face the rest of the day. They also talk about judgments, and Amal says no one should judge groups, but should “judge individuals” (Location 1614). Adam tries to defend his position, saying he has not met many Muslims. Amal counters by saying some Muslims believe all Anglos to be drunkards, and she asks if they are excused for that judgment because they have not met many Anglos. Adam seems...
