Summary
In Chapter 7, her classmates begin asking questions and Amal makes up all sorts of answers, including that she is going bald and that she has to wear it or her father will make her marry a 65-year-old man. At the end of the questions, Amal has informed her classmates that she made the decision to wear the hajib, that some women also cover their faces but that she will not, and that the word Muslim is correct rather than Islamic.
Later, Amal, Eileen, and Simone talk about Josh and Adam. Amal says she would never “cross the line” (Location 840) by having physical contact with Adam or anyone else.
