"Doctor Who - the Art of Destruction" by Stephen Cole is the story of an alien invasion on a planet in the future. Doctor Who and his traveling companion must fight for their lives as they help fend off the alien species.

Kanjuchi is down in the caves with Adiel. Both of them are on edge. They are checking out the mushrooms in the new chambers. They have to go through a narrow opening to get to the first of the new chambers, and Kanjuchi has a hard time fitting through with his paunch.

In the cave he sees something sparkling. It looks like gold, and it's all over. As Kanjuchi bends down to check it out, it begins to move, rolling closer to him. He tries to get away, but it stretches and sucks at him. He can't...
