Summary
Chapter 9
Trinket is taken to the police station to be questioned. Her lawyer, Jackson Lee Brunetti, takes her back to Bitty’s to pick up her stuff. When he does, she remembers him from school when they were kids. Trinket gets her clothes and purse before going home to her deeply concerned parents. Trinket and her mother discuss the case before Trinket takes a call from Bitty. Bitty has been released from jail on bond. That night, the news of Bitty’s arrest is on television. There is also a report about Mr. Sanders’ disappearance. However, when they mention the death of the dog, Trinket notices that they give the reason as natural causes. Trinket clearly saw that the dog had been run over. Bitty catches the same thing and schemes again to take a dog to the vets so she can get...
