Summary
Chapter 5
When they arrive at The Cedars, it appears no one is home. The walk around the property and discover Mr. Sanders’ elderly dog dead in a shed. Then they go into the house and find evidence that suggests no one has been in the house in days. Trinket finally talks Bitty into going to the police, but Bitty does not tell them anything about Philip, only that Mr. Sanders appears to be missing. Afterward, Bitty and Trinket are having lunch at a local diner when they learn Philip is officially missing.
Chapter 6
Philip becomes the subject of gossip all over town as the news spreads. Trinket talks to Bitty about Philip the next morning, but Bitty seems convinced that Philip is alive and well, off on vacation with one of his many lovers. Later, Bitty and Trinket go to have lunch with...
