The Oath Gazette
In the words of Sarah, the Oath Gazette is “the most prestigious paper in the city” (22). In Chapter 1, the narrator describes the building that the Oath is located in through Iris’ eyes: “This was an old building, constructed before the gods were vanquished. A few of those dead divines were painted on the ceiling… Iris always glanced up at them” (8). Thus, Ross foreshadows Iris’ eventual involvement in the war of the gods through a description of Iris’ workplace. Importantly, Iris’ cubicle is located near Roman’s, giving them impetus to make snarky remarks often to one another.
Aster’s Apartment
