Chapters 20 through 24 Summary
In chapter twenty, Beatrice is in another simulation. This time she is in a glass enclosure and water is pouring in, threatening to drown her. She frantically tries to break the glass but can't. She forces herself to stop and think, and remembers that it's a simulation. She is completely covered with water when she pounds the glass again and then kicks it, breaking it. She sits up in the chair and Four asks how she broke the glass. They leave the room and Four announces that Beatrice is Divergent. She asks what that means but Four says it's obvious by the fact that she can manipulate the simulations. He says he's going to erase the footage of today's simulation but that she has to learn to hide it during simulations or she'll wind up dead.
