Summary
In Chapter 4, “The Many Escapes of Darius Sadr (Episode 2)” Kimiâ struggles with insomnia. She watches a couple being called into the clinic office, and another couple replaces them.
Darius returns from Egypt in October of 1948 to discover that his father has passed away. The family blames Nour and Darius for Mizra-Ali’s death. Nour has cut her hair short, something that she was forbidden from doing while married to Mizra-Ali. Abbas has been given his share of the inheritance and sent to the United States. Nour tries to marry Darius off, but Darius flees on the day of his wedding, leaving a note leaned against a copy of The Brothers Karamazov.
Darius only decides to get married after he is introduced to Sara Tadjamol, a local history teacher, at a party. Kimiâ tries to guess why her parents were so drawn to one...
