Summary

Chapter 25 begins with an excerpt from Petra’s book, detailing the personality of a successful business. Lukas suddenly ran into the conference room exclaiming that tonight was “the night” of Petra’s Willow Falls bookstore appearance (197). While Lukas, Byron, Rhiannon, and Paige would attend the event to pitch their advertising company to Petra, the other employees would remain at the Guh office where potential advertisements for Petra’s products lined the walls. Paige thought the generated advertisements unoriginal. She imagined that Petra would prefer something less derivative. Lukas asked Paige what she planned to wear that night. Paige gestured to her current outfit, and Lukas told her to change. Paige did not have enough time to go home before the event; Lukas told her to “figure it out” (199).
