The Body, Chapters 8 to 17 Summary
Gordie gets his things and goes to meet Chris. Chris shows him a gun he took from his father's dresser, saying it's unloaded. Gordie takes it and shoots it, hitting a garbage can. The boys run before anyone can catch them. They meet up with Vern and Teddy and begin walking down the train tracks. They boys realize no one brought food and plan to stop at the store. A train comes and they go to get off the tracks, but Teddy wants to dodge it. He gets angry when Gordie pulls him back. They go to the dump, run by a man named Milo Pressman, and his legendary vicious dog, Chopper, to fill their canteens. They flip coins to see who will go for food, and they get a goocher, or four tails, which is supposed...
