Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, Part 1 Summary
Red Smith is a man in Shawshank Prison, located in Maine. He was sent to prison for cutting the brakes on his wife's car; their neighbor and her baby were also in the car when it crashed. He is known as the man who can get things, since he gets the prisoners whatever they request except guns and weapons. Red meets Andy Dufresne, a banker who is unjustly convicted of killing his wife, Linda. Linda was having an affair with a golf pro, Glenn Quentin. Someone broke into Quentin's home and shot them. Andy bought a gun several days before and cigarette butts and tire tracks show he was outside Quentin's home.
