Act 2 Scene 5 Summary

It is again November, 1945, returning to the first setting with Mr. Frank, Mr. Kraler, and Miep. The bitterness is gone from Mr. Frank after finishing his reading of Anne's diary. Miep tells Mr. Frank that she had gone to the country to look for food, and when she returned, she found the block surrounded. It was the thief that told on them.

Mr. Frank tells them that Anne was happy in the concentration camp in Holland where they were first sent. She loved being outside after 2 years of indoor confinement. The news was good with the Americans and British sweeping through France. They hoped they would get to them in time, but in September, they were shipped to Poland: the men to Auschwitz and the women to Belsen. They were freed in January, but the war was not quite over, and...
