Chapter III, pgs. 242-280 Summary
Kidd finishes the moving. He writes in his notebook. Mrs. Richards wants Kidd to stay. She doesn't know how to tell her husband about Bobby's death. They are in the new apartment and he suggests that she lay down and rest for a while but she declines. She says she doesn't believe that he really works any more. She feels he wanders around an empty building. Both Kidd and Madame Brown are there when Mr. Richards arrives.
Kidd discusses what happened with Lanya. They talk about the possibility of June shoving Bobby into the elevator shaft because of the poster. Richards didn't pay him but he felt he couldn't bring up the subject then.
Lanya and Kidd walk to Calkins' house. Lanya wants him to show Newboy his poems but Kidd just wants to see where Calkins...
