Part II, Chapters 4-5 Summary
Tom, who knows the town, suggests that the group of survivors go to the American West, the closed movie theater. As they walk, Johnny decides to go inside the bar to get some aspirin, and grabs a bottle of whiskey. Johnny recognizes that Tom is a last stage alcoholic and knows the old man will need to keep it in his bloodstream in order to function at the level they need from him. The group is being watched closely by five coyotes.
Steve and Cynthia talk about the carved rock they saw in the warehouse, and then they both begin acting very strangely, talking and thinking about unnatural sex acts.
