Summary

In Chapter 60, Caitlin takes hold of the axe and tries to break the chain with it, but the chain is far too strong. In Chapter 61, Sheriff Kinney and his deputy arrive at the cabin. The only person they find in the cabin is Billy, who is dead. They soon find Caitlin walking through the snow. In Chapter 62, Grant and Sean converse about how they still yearn to be reunited with Caitlin. In Chapter 63, Caitlin explains that Steve shot and killed Billy. They see that Caitlin has only one foot and is bleeding badly. In Chapter 64, Kinney and the deputy are rushing Caitlin to the hospital in their car. Along the way, Sheriff and the deputy discuss the fact that Caitlin cut off her own foot to escape. She apparently first severed the foot from Billy’s body to make sure the axe was sharp...
