Summary

Chapter 35

Logan wakes, badly injured from his beating. Slowly he begins to move because he needs his cloak. Sometime later, a girl comes into the cell and slips Logan a small package of food. The girl also offers him water that she has laced with medicine to help his developing fever.

Chapter 36

Melkin pulls Rachel from the river. When she recovers from her near drowning, she and Melkin discover that they have floated several miles out of their way, adding more time to the trip. As they begin to walk again, Melkin takes Rachel’s pack, but she becomes nervous because it contains all her weapons. Rachel insists on taking the weapons.

Chapter 37

Rachel and Melkin stop in an abandoned building for the night. Rachel insists on going hunting for food on her own. Rachel kills a boar. Melkin helps carry it back...
