Summary
In Chapter 6, Virgil spends the night thinking about how good-looking people do not always attract positive attention. The next morning, he makes a list of the people he needs to talk to. Before her leaves, Margaret Griffin comes by. He tells her that he will go to talk to the man who threatened her and finds out that she used to be a policewoman. They talk about the fact that he does not carry a gun.
He then goes to talk to the county sheriff, Jeff Purdy. The two men talk about the suspects. Virgil discovers that Gina’s sister is in town with her husband and that they are not suspects.
