David watches as a wall is anchored to Neptune's base. He approaches the crystal, sees the writing and is furious that Jack didn't disclose this feature. They trace phone calls from the Fathom, and learn that it was Karen who contacted Kirkland. Jeffreys hacks into their email account to find out why, thereby confirming Jack's knowledge of the script. When David hears Karen has a crystal, he assumes it is part of theirs and the mission is compromised. He calls Ruzickov who tells him to bring Karen into the project to silence her and gain control of the crystal, and shut Kirkland up however he can.
