Chapters 51-55 Summary

When the ice bullets stop, Michael peers over the sled and sees three figures in white weather suits with rifles approaching Norah, who is unconscious. Michael watches as they unhook her tether and pack snow down her throat. Once they are done with Norah, they move on to Corky. Rachel is telling Michael to run. Michael is searching the sled for a weapon and sees a Mylar fabric balloon, used to carry small loads of equipment through the air. With the high arctic wind, Michael thinks it might momentarily help them escape the attackers. He hooks himself to Rachel and throws the balloon in the air. It immediately fills with air and yanks the trio away from their attackers. The Delta force begins shooting them with ice bullets again, but to no avail. The trio is quickly propelled along the glacier...
