Summary
Ted Temple sits in his office and mourns Marian, whom he was having an affair with. He waits on a call from a man named Jeff Darby whom he hopes to sell his shopping complex to. Darby is a Klansman, and Marian threatened to expose her and Ted’s affair to him in order to avoid having the building sold out from under her. With Marian dead, Ted intends to move forward with the sale. When he hears a knock at his door, Ted opens it to find Jo standing there. She begins questioning him about his public argument with Marian and presses him about whether or not Marian had a boyfriend. Ted wonders nervously whether Jo knows more than she lets on, but she ultimately leaves without openly accusing him of anything.
