Summary

In Chapter 12, Bass provides an illustration of the teamwork it often takes to catch a serial killer. In October of 1992, a hunter found the body of a partially nude young woman with her hands bound stuffed into a rotting doghouse near Cahaba Lane in Knoxville. A police officer recognized her as Patricia Anderson, a prostitute and cocaine addict who had disappeared a week prior.

The police suspected Thomas Dee “Zoo Man” Huskey was responsible for her death because he had a reputation for beating up prostitutes. Cahaba Lane was one of the places he left those women tied up and naked after he beat and raped them.

When the police searched Huskey’s bedroom in his parents’ trailer, they found the same kind of twine that had been used to tie Patricia’s hands along with one of Patricia’s earrings. The police...
