Summary
Chapter 33, “In Which I Find that Reunions Ain't Always So Happy,” is from Jane's perspective and opens with another quote from Western Tales about the girl known as Devil's Bride. The man Jane killed is Richard Smith. However, because the drawing on the bounty flyer is vague, she plans to turn him in as David Johnson. To Katherine and the others, Jane reveals that she is a bounty hunter and has a brief run-in with Carolina, who demands she stop searching the body. Jane says anything he is carrying now belongs to her. She has to fight back tears when Sue arrives, but she manages to show no emotion to those watching.
