Chapter Two, A Night to Remember Summary

Sexton recaps his day, getting kicked out of his apartment so his mother can clean, meeting Didi in a garbage dump, and getting threatened by Mad Hettie. Didi tells the old woman that she will look for her heart, but there are other things she wants to do as well. Mad Hettie tells Didi that she might have hidden her heart in an egg inside a duck, but it has been so long she cannot remember. Didi tells Mad Hettie that she can make herself at home in her apartment while she and Sexton go out.

On the street, Didi guest a hot dog from a friendly hot dog vendor who will not accept payment for the meal. Didi wonders what it is about hot dogs that make them so good. Didi wants...
