Summary
Tim Allerton and his mom are in the dining room of the hotel. When the Doyles enter, Tim approaches them and introduces himself as Joann's cousin. Hercule is dining with Mrs. Otterbourne and Rosalie. It comes up in the conversation that Mrs. Otterbourne is an author and she offers to give one of her books to Hercule. Rosalie fetches the book for her mother. when Rosalie returns, Hercule recognizes the sadness in Rosalie's eye. Jacqueline enters the dining room and sits down at a table by herself and stares at Linett. Linett changes seats. Jacqueline changes seats so she can continue to start at Linett. Eventually, Linett goes into the hotel and Simon follows her.
