Levant
Levant is the small town where Vesta moves with Charlie after leaving Monolith. Here she buys her cabin in the middle of the woods. Though Vesta finds a sense of safety in the anonymity life in Levant allows, she is also constantly irritated by Levant's lack of excitement and diversity. When she is out in public, she actively criticizes everyone she sees. She marvels over the women's seemingly poor health, and the unintelligence of their children. Life in Levant does not become interesting, until Magda's alleged murder.
Shirley's Home
Vesta visits Shirley's home after meeting her in the library ladies room. When Shirley loses her keys, she grows frantic, unable to make it home. Believing she has encountered one of her characters, Vesta offers her a ride.
