Summary

Chapter 13 is titled “The Life of the Party.” Sweet Pea's feelings are hurt again when she notes how many people attend Kiera's party and that Sweet Pea was only invited accidentally. Sweet Pea likes jumping with Oscar because they are similar in size, meaning they send each other higher. Greg comes by and invites Sweet Pea to run the obstacle course with him. She agrees, but feels herself blush. They stop jumping for Kiera to open her gifts and Sweet Pea discovers she is embarrassed, though Kiera does not seem to be. Sweet Pea knows everyone thinks she simply could not buy an appropriate gift. They eat cake and pizza, then return to the trampolines. Sweet Pea has no warning before she becomes sick and throws up.
