Summary
In Chapter 11, Evan goes to school and is surprised to find that everyone wants to talk to him because of his “friendship” with Connor. For the first time in his life, people are noticing him. Jared starts selling buttons with Connor’s face on them for five dollars each. Evan goes home and sees an email from Cynthia, inviting him over for dinner again and asking if he has any more emails from Connor. Evan’s mother forgets about their taco plans and instead picks up an extra shift at work.
In Chapter 12, Evan goes to the Murphys' house and Cynthia tells him to wait upstairs in Connor’s room while she finishes dinner. Evan looks at Connor’s bookshelves, and his art sketches, and wishes hat he and Connor could have really been friends. Evan decides to tell the truth at dinner...
