Summary

In Chapter 6, Evan texts Jared and tells him about the events of Chapter 5. Jared tells Evan to stay home, as he plans to, but Evan feels like the right thing to do is to go to the funeral. Jared stops responding, so Evan looks online and sees that everyone at school is posting online about Connor. Evan decides to make a quick appearance at the funeral, tell the truth about the letter, and leave. When Evan arrives at the funeral, however, he realizes that he is the only guest aside from Mrs. Gorblinksi and Connor’s immediate family. Mrs. Murphy thanks Evan profusely for coming, and then begs Evan to come to dinner and tell them about his friendship with Connor.
