31 Summary
Camelia is saddened and horrified by her afternoon. Kimmie and Wes try to get Camelia to talk, but she is unresponsive. At home, she researches pyschometry, discovering that it is not a made-up word. Camelia then locks all the doors and windows, and goes downstairs to model with clay. A short time later, Kimmie shows up wit brownies, nearly scaring Camelia to death.
It is then that they notice something is in the mailbox. It is an 8-by-10 photo of Camelia with the words "I am closer than you think" scribbled across it. Camelia now knows she is being watched, and Kimmie hugs her.
31 Analysis
Camelia is terribly frightened by Ben's reading. Further compounding her fear is the arrival of yet another photograph. Rather than hearts on the envelope, this time, there is a cryptic statement of observation -that the stalker/writer is watching her...
