21 Summary
Camelia and Kimmie drive around while Nate eats McDonald's in the backseat. They discuss the odd date. Ben looks up Camelia in the phone book, and meets her at her house. He wants to talk, face-to-face. Ben admits that he pushed Camelia out of he way of the car the year before, and he is telling her this now because she is in danger. He asks if there has been anything unusual going on, or if there is anyone around she does not trust. He tells her again she is in danger, that he wants to help, and then he leaves.
21 Analysis
The reader's indecision about the identity of the writer/stalker being Ben is further shifted toward Ben when Ben confesses to having looked up Camelia in the phone book. Ben also says that Camelia is in terrible danger, and that
