Chapter Eight Summary
Sookie's life with Bill settles into a routine, with the two of them spending time together when the nights allow. Jason's troubles with the law continue, as he is repeatedly called into the police department to be questioned about the murders. When Sookie questions him about why the police are so interested, Jason admits that he had made video tapes while having sex with Maudette and Dawn, and the women had copies. His lawyer, Sid Matt Lancaster tells Jason to stop going to the police station without him present, and Sookie agrees. Jason asks Sookie to listen in on the thoughts of the patrons at the bar and try to find out who is the killer. Sookie explains that this is not as easy as it sounds but agrees to try.
