Chapter Six Summary
Sookie takes three days off from work and gets things in order along with Arlene's help. Deciding to move into her grandmother's room, Sookie feels better as the day goes on. Arlene leaves and Sookie takes a shower, washing away the grime of the day. Bill arrives and Sookie invites him in. Bill offers to comb out her hair and Sookie allows him to do so. While he works, Bill tells her about his family, his sister and brother, as well as his wife and children. Sookie is upset to think of all the pain Bill must have felt losing those he loved. Bill takes Sookie in his arms and the two kiss, and Bill carries her to bed. Excited and scared, Sookie responds enthusiastically, stopping only when Bill realizes she is a virgin.
