Chapter Four Summary
Sookie gets ready for her date with Bill and heads to work to collect her paycheck. Her dress causes a bit of a stir among the patrons and Sam calls her into the office. Sookie is surprised and intrigued when Sam leans over and smells her before she leaves.
At home, Bill is waiting and her outfit causes quite a different reaction with him. In the car Sookie apologizes for not being dressed appropriately, but Bill tells her that he simply doubts whether he can protect her at the bar. At Fantasia, the Shreveport vampire bar, Sookie is amazed by the people and vampires she sees. Showing pictures of Maudette and Dawn to the bartender Longshadow, the vampire confirms that both women had been in but refuses to say who they had been with. Showing him a picture of her brother...
