Summary
In Chapter 19, in the elevator, Parnell told Clyde that she believed Hiram was hiding something. Her thoughts were interrupted when Parnell received a phone call from Rick Wolanski, a former deputy with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department. He said that he remembered four fatal wrecks that had taken place at Deadman’s Crossing. He promised to get the files for her and Parnell asked if she could meet him in an hour and a half.
Parnell next called Cohen who said that Zolner’s truck had been found in a hotel parking lot in Gillette, Wyoming, but Zolner was not there and had not checked into the hotel. The FBI had checked Zolner’s financial accounts and found he had several big deposits that were not part of his pension. They were looking for the source of those deposits. When...
