Summary
In Chapter 14, sitting outside the VA building with Clyde, Parnell got more comfort from his loving look than anything Hayes had told her. Before they went home, Parnell paid a visit to Ben in his hospital room. She wondered how it made sense that he had survived Iraq but had been so badly injured in his own home. Parnell made a promise to Ben that she would find Lucy alive.
In Chapter 15, back at Cohen’s house, Parnell told Clyde they were still good, but she knew chances of finding Lucy alive were getting more and more thin because she had been gone for a full day.
