Summary

The Elephant and the Governor sit down to meet at the Governor’s house in the Bronx. They are briefly interrupted by the Governor’s daughter Melissa, whom the Elephant immediately falls in love with her, fantasizing about whisking her off the country and starting a life together. The Governor takes the Elephant to his bagel shop before they return back to the house. Instead of talking about the treasure, the Governor tells the Elephant how he came to own the bagel shop. He also explains that Melissa will run the business on her own soon enough, and that it will be enough to keep her out of trouble.
