Chapters 67-72 Summary

In chapter sixty-seven, Karou reveals that the souls of a great deal of chimaera, are retrievable in the cathedral. Thiago tries to change the subject by demanding to know how Issa's soul arrived in the kasbah. She continued, blaming the soldiers for the retaliatory attacks on the chimaera innocent. She also admits that Baliero's team refused to go along with Thiago's orders to kill innocent seraphim. Thiago responds by saying that the chimaera are already lost and destroyed so the only possible course of action is revenge. Karou searches for faces amongst the chimaera who might support her, and sees very few. Thiago pretends to take her suggestion under advisement, and she realizes he has done this so that she cannot truly have a victory over him in front of the others.
