Day Shift (The Title)
The title of the novel symbolizes the crossroads between "normal" human activities and the supernatural. The main plot in this novel deals with the humans in the narrative (Manfred and Olivia) and problems that are the making of humans. Also, there are secrets of the members of the day shift in the town that see the light of day. Readers know more about Olivia's past, that Joe and Chuy are angels, and that Manfred is really psychic.
