Summary
When Isabel comes in from the stairs, she and Dan get into an argument about Nathan and Violet. Nathan has been struggling with school. Violet has been upset about the virus. They argue about Dan’s music, too. He says all of his songs are for Robbie. Isabel and Dan are unsure about their relationship. Dan thought that if he “was a musician again,” their dynamic would change (164). Isabel is less hopeful.
Garth considers his circumstances. Seeing Odin and Chess from the street was emotional. He had not intended “to fall in love with Chess” (165). He wishes they could be a family.
