Act I Summary

David Boring is having sex with a young lady, who is an actress. It seems as if she is pleased with the sex, but David is also getting a sense that she might end the act at any moment and run off to a party filled with B-list actors.

David Jupiter Boring introduces himself as the narrator. He says he's the son of a cartoonist. David was born in 1978 and the story he is telling takes place in 1998. He says since he moved to the city, he has had sex with six women, but was a virgin prior to the move. David's roommate is Dot, a girl about his age.
