Xingyin
Xingyin is the protagonist of this novel, a brave but inexperienced teenager who grows into a strong young warrior throughout the course of the novel. Daughter of two legendary figures of Chinese mythology, Houyi and Chang’e, she has the strength and fighting spirit of her warrior father, and the devotion and sacrifice of her mother, the Moon Goddess.
She becomes the greatest archer in the Celestial Kingdom, and is deeply devoted to those she cares about. She overcomes negative emotions such as betrayal and jealousy to help and serve those who have hurt her, such as Prince Liwei and Princess Fengmai.
She values peace and wisdom, and sacrifices her own life force to free the dragons from their imprisonment as well. She values bravery, freedom, and family above all else.
