Summary

Chapter 6 opens from Fathom's perspective. Fathom, Pearl, and Indigo are preparing to go to a party at the Island Palace. The celebration is in honor of two visiting SkyWings. Indigo, as usual, has Blob perched on her head but agrees with Pearl that she must leave him behind. Queen Lagoon arrives with her husband and the SkyWings, who are bright red. Albatross is notably absent. Fathom is training daily but uses very little magic. Queen Lagoon has a moment alone with Fathom and says he must stop seeing Indigo. She makes a reference to marriage and Fathom says he is not ready for marriage. Queen Lagoon says she has seen them interact and Fathom realizes that the happiness he feels when he is with Indigo could be love. The SkyWings recapture Queen Lagoon's attention, asking about a fountain. She reveals that animus magic...
