Summary
In Chapter 3, a few days pass after the animus test. Fathom and the other young dragons are in an underwater palace when a messenger announces that Albatross wants to see Fathom. Indigo's mother died when she was young and Indigo has become a permanent fixture in Fathom's and Pearl's life. Pearl could feasibly become queen someday and has had extra classes and training toward that end. One of Pearl's comments makes Fathom feel she is jealous of his magic. Albatross forbade him from doing any magic until he began training. The bird that was choked on the vine tempers Fathom's excitement, making him apprehensive about spending time with Albatross. Fathom and Albatross meet on a beach and Albatross seems pleased to have another animus in the tribe. Albatross takes Fathom to another island where he is creating a new palace he has dubbed...
