Summary

In Chapter 12, Cobra demands to know why she is being arrested. Thorn turns to Qibli for the answer. Qibli says Cobra lied to him and conspired against Thorn. He cites a series of clues that made him certain Cobra had not been in the prison for years, including information they could only have gotten using the Obsidian Mirror. He knows Vulture cleared the way for them to escape and discovers poison and an exploding cactus in Cobra's bag. Cobra says she wants to “destroy (Vulture) and take over the Scorpion Den” (133) with Qibli. Qibli knows he cannot believe her and that his friendships have made him strong enough to resist the temptation of believing her.
