Chapter 8 Summary

Suze goes out with Paul for a burger after work. When she gets home, there are police cars at her house. Andy stops Suze before she makes it to the hole filled with people and caution taped strung around it. She watches as they lift a body bag on a stretcher out of the hole. Andy and Dopey tell her it is a skeleton. A handkerchief with Maria de Silva's initials flutters from the stretcher and hot the ground. Suze notices it is the same one Jesse used to dry her tears the night before.

Suze throws up and her mother insists on putting her to bed. Her mom tells her that the police are treating it like a homicide, but since he still had his spurs on, they assume it's a very old murder. A little while later, Doc calls Suze on...
