Chapters 22-24 Summary

Ty wakes up in the middle of the night and hears a splash downstairs. He goes down to find Gemma sneaking out. She intends to borrow their sub and run away again. He gives her food and directions, and she asks him to come with her. Just then, the lights outside all go out, and a dark shape moves above the house. It is the Specter.

Ty calls his father on the intercom and tells him what is happening. He tells Gemma to go upstairs and wake Zoe, and lock them both in Zoe's room. Ty's parents come downstairs and put their diveskins on. They decide to go out to protect their livestock and equipment, and instruct Ty to protect the house.
