Chapters 13-14 Summary
Grasping at straws, Leia considers cutting through the back of the dukha, but the Imperials are bombing. Chewie stows Threepio in the large hanging dish and scrambles into a booth that barely holds him and Leia. From Thrawn's voice she knows he is truly a Grand Admiral. Khabarakh sounds defensive and contradicts himself. His mother demands judgment by clan Kihm'bar and due process under Noghri law, but Thrawn proclaims Imperial law and himself supersede it. Turbolaser shots encircling the village suggest what continued disobedience will bring. Leia feels guilty for destroying Khabarakh and knows they are in trouble.
On Jomark, Luke feels that a volcanic lake on the south shore is right for a reclusive Jedi Master. Nearing, he sees a rustic village and a mansion perched on the rim. An alert, upright old man is watching. C'baoth welcomes Luke, who...
