Chapter 20 Summary
Blair swims in and out of consciousness; medicines are poured down her throat, and she is awakened as soon as she falls asleep because of her concussion. All the while, Larkin refuses to leave her side. Blair finally wakens without the confusion of the concussion and overwhelming pain to find only Larkin in her room. Irritated at the constant rehashing of her beating at the hands of the vampires, Blair asks Larkin when he first knew he could change shapes. When he was a young boy, Larkin wanted a puppy but was denied. In his youthful petulance he could think of nothing else and suddenly he turned into a puppy. Apparently, shapeshifting runs in the family and his grandmother taught Larkin how to use his gift.
Blair knows everything there is to know about Larkin, the man she loves and so the pain...
